Dylan~
My eyes flutter open and I realise I'm laying into the wet soil, that is soaking my clothes and causing them to cling to my body uncomfortably.
I roll onto my back groaning because of the ache in my whole body.
Where the hell am I?
Then like a thunderbolt the event from the past or maybe the future, hell, I don't know, came crashing down on me
Potion. Alle. God of Death. Past.
Oh my god.
I was too shocked to think about anything else.
Is this really happening?
Am I really in the past?
Or am I hallucinating?
I don't know.
And I don't want to waste anymore time if I'm really in the past that means Alle is still alive and I can save her this time and I don't want to know what happens if can't this time.
I was running towards the top hoping and praying that I'm not late this time.
When I reached the top I was looking around to see a glimpse of her.
My heart was beating so fast that I thought it will come out of my chest because of this unknown situation.
Then something blue catches my eyes.
There.
There she is safe and alive.
A smile blooms on my face, I can't explain what I was feeling on that very moment seeing her alive again. I felt so relieved.
She was clutching the door handle and was about to open the door. Panic flares deep in my chest and I scream her name to stop her.
"Alle! Stop." I screamed on top my lungs.
"That's not the right door." Her steps halted and her eyes snapping to mine.
I ran towards her, panicking and gasping for air.
I wrapped my arms around her tightly thinking if I leave her she will disappear into thin air.
And I'll realise this was all a dream.
Relief flooded into my chest that this is real. She is alive and I have saved her this time and this isn't a dream, but my happiness fades when she jerks away from me, and pushes me away
"Who are you?" She asks angrily.
"Why are you touching me and how do you know my name?" She yells.
I blinked, blinked again.
What is she talking about? Who am I? Why am I touching her? Why I know her name? Did she hit her head somewhere or something?
She is the love of my life, is she joking? how can she say something like that to me.
"What are you talkin—" I snap my mouth shut.
Realisation hits me in the gut like a punch.
"But in return I'll take something."
Her memories.
That's the answer of the question I was looking for.
He took her freaking memories.
No. No. No.
This can't be happening.
This can not be happening.
He can't take her memories like that.
No. No.
This can't be true.
Did she forget everything? What am I going to do now? How can I fix this? Can I fix this?
Desparation fills me. There's only one way to find out.
I've to ask god of Death.
But how? but till then I've to ask her something, anything that will clear my confusion that she forgot everything or not.
But I was too stunned and devastated by this situation to form a sentence.
My throat feels too tight to speak.
When I remain silent she asks again.
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
I don't know what to say. I clear my throat.
"I.. I'm Dylan. And about your name, you are from Moonsland right? that's why I know your name, I know everyone's name there." I said hoping she will believe it.
She arched an eyebrow at me "You live in Moonsland?" She asks.
"Uh.. yes." Okay, so she knows that she lives in Moonsland then she knows something. I've to ask some more to clear everything.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I'm here for the potion." She says in a duh tone. If she knows all of that, that means she only forgot me. Something breaks inside me.
"If you live there then, why did I never saw you?" She asks in a skeptical tone.
"I don't know, maybe you didn't noticed me." I answer her.
I swallowed past the hitch in my throat.
You really forgot me Alle.
And I don't know how to make you remember me again.
What am I going to do now?
"Okay... but why did you stop me?" She asks.
Because you were going to die all over again if I didn't stop you and let you open that damn door again.
I couldn't say any of that so instead I said.
"Because that was the wrong door."
"And how do you know it was the wrong door?" She asks.
Because you've opened the door and died. But obviously I didn't said that.
"And what are you doing here?"
"Saving you."
"What?" she asked confused.
"I..I mean I came here for the potion just like you. And about that door my gut told me it's not the right one."
"And why should I believe your gut?"
"Look it's green and I don't think god of Death will be behind a green door." I said and shrugged casually.
"Are you out your mind? Just because it's green that doesn't mean it's wrong." She practically yells at me and huffs.
"I'm opening the door." She was reaching for the handle.
"No, stop. Trust me it's not the right door." She retrieved her hand and narrowed her eyes at me.
"Then, which one is it?"
"The first one, the black door." I said confidently.
She crosses her arms and asks. "And why is that?"
"It's a black door and I'm confident it is the right door." I told her.
"Are you for real? Is this a joke to you?" she asks glaring at me.
"Trust me it is the right door, why would I want to get us both killed?" I say with slight hitch.
She opened her mouth to argue but before she could say something.
"Please trust me, I won't let anything happen to you... I mean to us." I said.
She closed her mouth looking skeptically at my face and whatever she sees on my face made her shoulders sank and she nodded.
Relief flooded through me.
"But if it's turn out to be the wrong door there'll be a hell for you to pay." She said.
Oh trust me I know what I paid for choosing the wrong door. Then we both went to the black door. I heard her muttering "Crazy piece of shit." I smiled knowingly.
She clutched the door handle and looked at me.
At my encouraging nod she yanked it open and a flash of light blinded us.
When I opened my eyes the time seem to had stopped around me.
Beside me Alle looks like a statue.
The trees, clouds, fogs doesn't move.
What the hell happened?
Then I saw him. Death.
He was coming from the door and stood front of me.
I wasn't understanding anything for a moment.
Then all the anger from earlier came to me with a force.
"Why did you take her memories of me?" I bark not caring who is he.
He laughed oblivious to my inner turmoil.
"I told you I'll take something." He says in a matter of fact tone.
"But why did you took something from her? you should've taken something from me." I yell at him but he doesn't seem to care.
"Don't worry I'll take something something from you too." He laughed again.
"What?" My voice came out hoarse.
"Her." He said.
My eyes widened with shock.
"What do you mean her?" A new kind of fear gripped me.
"I mean... if you don't make her remember you she'll die on the next Red Moon. And her soul will be mine." He whispers to me like he's telling a secret and laughs.
I was too shocked to speak at that moment but still I managed.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Exactly what I said, she'll die on Red Moon if you don't make her remember you." He answers.
"How can you do this, you saved her." I spat out.
"I didn't do it out of the goodness of my heart. you begged me to save her, this was your decision and I told you I'll take something but you still agreed and now you have to deal with the consequences." He said to me.
He's right.
I have to deal with the consequences.
But I don't know what to do now, Red Moon is after six months and I've to make her remember in six months?
"H..how can I m..make her remember?" I whisper brokenly.
"I don't know, that's upto you." He says.
Then everything starts to move again.
My time was over to ask him anything more.
Alle was staring at him with wide eyes then she asked him to give us the potion.
Which he did. Maybe this time out of the goodness of his heart, Prick.
Alle said thank you to him but I was too furious at him I wanted to strangle him to death but you can't kill someone who is already dead but still, I wanted to scream at him for what he did to me to my Alle.
By the time when we where heading back to Moonsland, we didn't speak but I saw her looking at me curiously, when she thought I wasn't looking.
A small smile tugged at my face.
I'll make you remember me Alle, I can't let you die again. I'll save you even if I have to give my own life. I'll happily die for you. I'll make you remember everything about us before Red Moon.
I have to, at any cost.
With this determination of making her remember me, I walked forward with her beside me.
Because in a world of black and white, she is my kaleidoscope.
